what retarded /out/ purchases have you made that are kinda cool anyway?
my mom found out that i bought a titanium spork for $20 and she is genuinely questioning my intelligence.

For me it was an umbrella like 20 years ago. I figure $20 or whatever it was wasn’t that big of a deal, and I might use it a few times, maybe, if conditions were just right. Now I take it on nearly every hike outside of winter. I had been to susceptible to the California Influence and wasn’t focused on my local environment, where an umbrella reigns supreme.
