My girlfriend is going to a timber framing convention over the weekend. She wants me to come with her and we will be camping with a van. I used to be local but damn that city really blew up fast. I know a few places off the back of my hand but I’m looking for nice places to camp and have a fire in between the 3 day convention.

I realize there is nowhere to camp in the city, but I’m thinking of the surrounding foothills to the north, and somewhere along the Boise river to the east. I never really explored much of the plains to the south. The less cop and warden interactions the better.
