>>2812983currently use a sea2summit pot and pan. the pic is from a previous job where i used their less light but much cheaper pan. i use a pocket rocket because they are built to be able to simmer and lightly boil while a jetboil only boils hard. i bring a lil cutting board. here are some of my common meals.
>chicken pesto pastapre cook the chicken unless i can and want to build a fire (rarely), bring pasta, usually smaller works better like penne rigate or orzo, pesto sauce in a tiny bottle like a travel liquid bottle, pine nuts, cherry tomatoes, and fresh mozarella to dice. only thing to cook is pasta in pot. will take longer at higher altitudes. roast the pine nuts a bit too in a pan, does wonders and smells nice
>sausage, green beans, tomatoes and couscousi use a precooked sausage, i like kielbasa the most. i usually make this at home with rice, which i sometimes use, (or carry in precooked) but it takes a lot of time and fuel and effort. instead ill make one of those near east couscous things first in the pot, then while it cooks on its own i fry up diced sausage, cut green beans, and halved cherry tomatoes with most of the goo squeezed out, if you dont it gets a lil stewy. start with the sausage and green beans, dont need oil the goal is to cook the green beans in the sausage grease as it releases. then add the tomatoes last thing just to warm them, dont want to make them soggy.
>orzo/arugula pasta saladonly thing to cook is the pasta. fresh arugula, feta, sliced red onion, dried cherries or cranberries or similar, pine nuts (again, roast them), cherry tomatoes, and pepper. i have a stash of fast food pepper packs. i might also bring some balsamic vinegar and olive oil in a tiny bottle to add. can also add sausage or whatever if you need meat. women love this one.
