So in our country we have happening called EDK ("extreme stations of cross"). Its basically walking 40km from one church to another from 21:00 to 6 in the morning this April - mostly forrest flat terrain. My friend is planning to do it and i plan on tagging along - just to try myself and i think it may be extraordinary experience. It could be something to be proud about. Problem is i am total newfag when it comes to hiking. I dont even have good shoes for which i can say they are both very comfortable and wont get ruined very quickly. I have Vans shoes that are comfortable but they can easily get soaked during cold april night. What about nike air force? I am 30 years old newfag and i dont remember ever hiking so far, i was just doing 6km regularly recently. Thats why i want to try myself - and it is ocassion and i have some company this time so i won't get lost.
Anyway - is this idea doable for me and how i can prepare?
I think tomorrow i will buy trekking shoes, good pair socks, maybe some antiwind jacket and balaclava? And will just test it on 5,10km walking distance.
I have a week to prepare.
