good, ish. a few major pro's a few minor con's, depends on your car height and travel/camping habit
pros, you keep your entire sleeping setup away from the rest of the gear (small/medium car and you find a new spot every night and want easy access to cooking, fishing and other gear while on the road yet just zip, zap fold out your tent bed and duvet in the evening) you can always bring it with you and still have full use of the rest of the car (yes, once you install it keep it on for the season, thats how random camping happend)
go to sleep/wake up with a view not in the grass or a trunk, quickest setup/pack doen time of any tent options from stopping your car to being inside sleeping bag (i will challenge you and i will win) no need to worry about ground conditions
cons, offers a little roof to sit under if it rains (the fold to the side type tents)
cons, not suited if you camp on the same spot for several days, have to climb ladder, on high cars its an effort to unfold/pack up, gearfags love them and think having one makes them Overlanders, haters refuse to accept the pro's and will constantly try to uptalk all the other options not knowing i have tried them all and they are not as good.
