son, just get a propper flashlight, and a propper handheld radio, if the firms time your have to use your radio is a an emergency, its chances slim to none it will actually help you.
in my personal experience, most people nowadays, dont even know how band works.
if you are the doomsday prepper type, get a solid battery powered flashlight, modern ones are 1000x better, but Maglight still has somewhat of a handhold on battery powered ones, dont leave the battery in.
highly depends on if you are wanting to receive, versus wanting to transmit
just get a cheap as fuck modern landhandel transmitter, a flashlight and some powerbanks
