Canadian Wildfires have fucked my summers

So I thought the winter would just get rid of these but apparently they're going to continue on until Canada puts forth serious resources to extinguish them.
My summers used to be blue and clear but now they're grey and muggy as can be.

Is anyone else dealing with this pain?

I'm from Manitoba which is currently burning so yes. Luckily on most days the winds are keeping the smoke away from my part of the province, but we've had a few days where the smoke was as thick as fog. Being outside was unbearable. I walked a block to the bar and back and my throat was already sore.

wildfires are normal and happen every year. smoke is as much a part of summer as mosquitoes and blackflies. it sucks, but what can you do?

I hate them too makes our short summer season even shorter. I'm not exactly sure what can be done about them but I believe more budget for more controlled burns is a good start.

They didn't always happen this often or at this scale though. Even 10 years ago there were way fewer days of suffocating on smoke during the summer.

Easily solved by deregulation and property rights: sell the land to people, thus they have a vested interest in stopping fire. Deregulations allow those people to chop the trees down so they dont catch alight.

Of course this goes against socialism and environmentalism so won’t be permitted; elites want to keep power.

Also this. Before humans artificially cut down forests, this is how fires were, big and messy. Even the red indians did a better job than liberals.

I dont see how forest fires are good or bad. Unless it’s someones lumber crop or a town burning down, what’s the problem?
Settlements threatened by forest fires are solved the instant policy makers permit people to chop down firebreaks surrounding the settlement. Quite disgusting it isn’t already done considering it’s the price of a few men with chainsaws.

yes, it's called firefighters 10 years ago doing too much fire suppression and too little controlled burns. get used to it, it will stay like this until all the excess fuel is consumed
