I also did a fast for 6 days (while bingeing Alone for the first several seasons). I understand it sucks the wind out of you, but it's manageable.
I also did a 6d backpacking trip where I ended up only getting about 500-800 cal per day while hiking in the mountains, due to a bad batch of granola ruining my supplies. I survived, and it was considerably more work than most contestants do on week 1.
Also didn't see another person for most of it, didn't go insane. Was joyous.

'Will' also had a lot of ego riding on the show and had to tap early. I do think his tap was legit, but I also doubt he would've lasted long regardless. Didn't even bother to put on weight. Zero respect for anyone who doesn't even do that basic prep work.
