I want to go near some lake and sleep in a hammock. Never did that before, my last experience with camping was in a tent 15 years ago. I am planning to do that next week for Perseids meteor shower peak.
Pic related, I bought this recently, I also have a tarp.
I live in central/eastern Europe, temperature at night drops to about 10 degrees Celsius in August, but I think a sleeping bag will be enough for that, though I don't have one yet.
I will take any tips about anything related, from picking a campsite and making a fire to equipment that may be helpful.

It won’t be. You’ll be freezing cold, even with an appropriately rated sleeping bag.

Insulating layers like a sleeping bag only work due to loft. The part of the bag that’s squished between you and the hammock will have no loft and will lose all of its insulating properties. It’s a common issue with hammocks.

The silly toon is an underquilt. It’s an insulating layer that hangs under the hammock, sort of pressed up against you. You might be able to rig up a sleeping bag under you, but you’ll still need something on top of you.

Another solution is to use a ground pad in your hammock. An inflatable filled about 2/3 of the way works ok, but it sort of dictates the shape of the hammock and they have a tendency tendency to slide around.

You’ll be cold. Get an underquilt (ideal) or use an inflatable pad filled to about 2/3 (not ideal but can get by).

Yup, that's me.
I thought I'm OK sleeping in a tracksuit in a sleeping bag with a blanket, but I will consider getting an underquilt, thank you guys.

Any other tips or things I didn't even think about?

Measure your hammock body from end to end. Get a piece of rigid, non-stretchy, somewhat thin rope. Tie two loops in the ends, making it 83% the length of your hammock. Secure the rope to the ends of your hammock.

Now every time you hang it, no matter how you set your suspension, your hammock will be at a 30° angle. This makes it fairly consistent; it will be pretty much the same whenever you set it up. The ridge line also gives you a place to hang little stuff sacks for various items (cell phone, water bottle, cum rag, etc.)

Not a tip, more of a warning. After a hike, it’s advised to elevate your feet. This has the effect of endemic fluid being absorbed back into the body more quickly. It’s then processed into the bladder and peed out. We don’t always do this with tents, but when you’re using a hammock it’s just comfy to lounge on your back with your feet up. So hammock campers pretty much always elevate their feet after a hike.

Sometimes, depending on the weather.

First, this question is open to interpretation. Which hammock are you talking about? More importantly, what’s the entire setup? While tents are single items, hammocks are systems that are often pieced together.

Unlike tents, the bottom insulation on a hammock isn’t the same thing used throughout the year. Most people have a single ground pad they use for three season, but hammocks have varying degrees of underquilts.

An 40° down underquilt is usually about equivalent to a really nice inflatable pad in terms of weight, and is probably the most common rating. But in the summer you don’t need a quilt at all, while in a tent you’ll need still need that pad.

My entire hammock setup is around 30oz, not including the underquilt. That’s close to something like an X-Mid 1. In the summer, that’s how much my entire setup weighs, while the X-Mid adds another 13oz with a ground pad. A 40° underquilt is around 17 ounces, while a 20° is around 21 or 22 (those weights are based on 850fp down, not synthetics or Chinese duck down).

Not much more, though the tarps are pretty is pretty big. Best bet it to put it in a snake skin and coil it up in an outside pocket.

I don't think I will be traveling on foot a lot, since I have a prosthetic leg and I'm not that keen on walking. I probably won't be going more than 2km from my car.

Pic related is my setup.
Because of a monkey mind sleeping bag was the first thing I bought after the hammock, and concerned about temperature I bought one rated for 0 centigrade. I didn't pay much attention to weight or dimensions because I'm going by car, but that thing turned out to be enormous, biggest single item I have.
Anons here >>2833442 >>2833449 and also a hammock review guy saying he froze his ass convinced me to buy an underquilt. Now I'm probably going to be too hot, but I guess that's easier to deal with than freezing balls.
I also bought a multi function tactical shovel - it even has a whistle, magnetic rod for starting a fire and a knife on a cheap plastic thread, which I intend to use as my main knife. I'm excited to see how bad it's going to be.
It would be cool if I can manage to make a small fire and make coffee in a moka pot, but I'm not sure how that will go if wood around is wet.
Any further tips welcome.

Maybe, but the ends of underquilts have cinch cords. On warmer nights you leave it loose on the ends, or tighten just the corners near your head and feet.

Also if your quilt didn’t come with suspension make sure you use shock cord and not plain old rope.

So I did it.
I can't recommend going into the wild to unknown terrain, especially with walking impairment. I checked google maps sattelite and thought it would be OK, but there was dense thicket, uneven ground and fences. Somehow I managed to get through it all and set up my hammock, although later than I anticipated. The view on perseids radiant was also worse than I expected, but I did see quite a few meteors despite the bright moon.

The hammock should be a little longer for someone my height, but it wasn't bad. Sleeping in a sleeping bag with an underquilt was quite comfy, thank you guys for making me get it. I can't say I got a full night of good sleep because sounds of boars woke me up, but the animals didn't come close.
It was an interesting experience, I think I will go at it again, maybe on a bike and in more friendly terrain.

Not really, I practiced it a couple of times earlier. I learned two simple knots that seem to be enough for anything.

I didn't experiment a lot, usually I hang the hammock at my arms height with more or less 30 degrees angle.
The overquilt was kind of tight, making it a bit hard to lay flat diagonally, but that's probably I tied it too tight instead of just attach it to the hammock's snap hook.

I almost ripped off the inner mesh pocket where I kept my phone, because it was right under my arm. I should have kept my legs on that side.

I think people fiddle with their hammock way too much and the obsession with 'the hang' kills the best spots for them.
Get a ridgeline. No need to use it but should your trees ever be too far apart it's nice to have it.
Secondly do not obsess with the height and 'comfortable sitting' you want to sleep in it, not sit in it.

Why would someone ever take their Ridgeline off? It goes on and stays on. There’s no advantage to ever removing it. It not only dictates the angle of my hammock but holds up my bug net and gives me a place to store things. OP doesn’t have one (or he said it’s stretchy, which is odd). And different height can still be a variable, both at the bottom of the hammock and the difference between the head end and the foot end.

What the hell even is this? Have you ever even used a hammock? Why didn’t you hang it low enough to use as a chair?I’m absolutely going to want to sit in my hammock. It’s one of the great things about it.
