Why does the Caribou Targhee National Forest never get talked about? Is it because its completely overshadowed by the Teton Mountains and Yellowstone which are about 10 minutes and 30 minutes away respectively?

Looks nice. It's also incredibly more affordable to do anything in Idaho desu compared to Western Wyoming (esp during tourist seasons). I was in Alpine, WY not long ago and some guy recommended I go off somewhere that I think would have ended up in CTNF. I didn't end up doing it though (was my last day, was driving back home next day).

I lived in Riverton and Lander, and briefly worked in Rock Springs. Western Wyoming is not expensive whatsoever. Basing your entire experience on Jackson and the Teton area is retarded.
