First off, what kind of kukri did you get? I've heard that the angle that the blade bends forward at makes a big difference in the performance. I've heard people complain that kukris like the Cold Steel one don't really do what a kukri is supposed to do, because the blade is too straight. Is yours straight-ish, or is there a sharp curve?
Second, what were you using the machete for? For all my love of machetes, I never really even thought of them as useful in my experiences north of the Carolinas, or really for anything that wasn't work. I'm not arguing with you that it could be useful, I'm just curious about how your methods are different from mine, is all. I always like to know if there's an easier way to do things (or even just a more fun way) than what I've been doing.
