I've also been thinking about laminating something like in the attached image at some point though I expect the tillering for that to be a challenge. Two long, thin slats of suitable back/belly woods, one onto each side of a handle piece, then some rawhide or maybe even a glass strip on the back. Bingham Projects sells this fiberglass stuff called Bo-tuf or something, though I am unsure whether they ship to Sweden.
How do you straighten out those crooked staves? Just apply dry heat, put it in a vice or something and hold it until it cools? Or do you have some elaborate rig with clamps?
Do you make your own arrows? Tips, fletchings, shaft material?
Don't you have access to trees you can like.. borrow? I just go for a drive and stop in what seems a fairly secluded area and go for a walk with a hatchet in my backpack. Saws are quieter though.
