>>2848380I went for a dry run last week on the outskirts of a small town. Here in the UK it's late "fall" now, but it was not very cold. Thermals, cotton clothes and a thin hoodie were fine. I forgot to buy firelighters along the way despite carrying a folded camping stove the whole distance. The ground was very damp making hard travel but I loved it. I considered drying some kindling with a lighter and then keeping it next to my body heat to make it fire-ready, but a fire was not necessary.
Didn't buy the optional groundsheet for my tipi tent, couldn't fully relax outside of the inner tent because the mud ruined the vibe. Will try to use the groundsheet from another tent instead of buying a full fitted hexagonal one and then cutting a hole in it for a stove, etc.
I now have a new hobby. To find nice little places to be, where I can set up a hidden little world amongst the overgrown thickets and bramble patches. I enjoy being alone in those places in the dark, it was a peaceful solace feeling that I need more of. In those green islands of nature between the fields I can live quite free, unbothered, with everything I need. And to carry it all on your back, under your own strength, what a great feeling.
