Yeah because it literally kills you. Not just that it's high risk, but it's inevitable from the nitrogen poisoning.
The people who are smart and skilled enough to do something like that are also smart enough to pick something safer.

Mountaineers aren't really any different. The major climbers that I've worked with have all been a little addled, because, surprise, repeated exposure to oxygen-deficient environments fucks up your brain. The ones that have been doing it for years are really fucked and it's sad to see, but they wholeheartedly chose it.
