Since 2020 there has been a trend of young women wearing inappropriate clothing, and if you say "hi" or anything at all to them or notice they exist they act like you killed their family, because they never hiked before and are only doing so now for performative reasons. So basically, you should ignore them.
These are Instagram thots who never hiked before and don't care about hiking or nature or anything, they're just going to get pictures of themselves wearing very little clothing in particular locations. I have learned that they tend to not be there in wet or cold weather or in non-tourist areas, so it's better to get off the beaten track since these "new hikers" are kind of shit and only there for a lewd photo shoot.
