Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a Buck 860, a neck knife made of s30v steel.

I want to know if my Lansky Turnbox with brown ceramic rods will have any problem sharpening it.

Or should I just buy Buck 160 made of their's 420HC steel?

Ceramic would keep it touched up for a while but you'll need diamond to sharpen it

so as long as I take care of the blade and not overuse it, it's ok to use brown rods?

I wouldn't overuse it anyway, it's a neck...

You should be for quite awhile, it will hold its edge well, so if its not your primary knife its not going to dull up that quickly

Diamond plates aren't that expensive though and there is a chance the small pocket diamond rod can fit into a turnbox slot, but don't quote me on that
