I got a request to share the process of building my small cabin on my property in the Nort woods.
The idea came about when my dad brought up some cedar fence panels that he was going to burn. I ended up spending a few months designing the cabin and came up with the final plan of 8x10 interior with a loft, and a 4x8 porch.
I didn't have a lot of cash at the time since I was in school, so I spent the weeks working and on fridays I would buy what I could for building supplies and drive 3 hours north to work on the cabin. Most construction was done alone, except for my cousin helping me hoist the rafters and my friend wanted to help shingle the roof.
