South Fork road past Cougar reservoir is also pretty nice.
I wasn't lucky enough to spend much time east of the Cascades while I lived there. The Ochocos and Blue Mountains are lovely, but the roads I took through them were a bit busier than I would have liked.
I did not enjoy the drive from Bend into Nevada much. Oregon 140 is a shoulderless, narrow, 2-lane road. I guess the Oregon side was okay, but across the Nevada border the speed limit goes to 70 mph and some cars and trucks do 80-90.
