So /out/, as someone new to camping and /out/doors in general, what are your (or campers collectively I guess) opinions on non-regulated camping, though it's probably not called that.

I mean no campsites, no registration, you just find a safe and hidden place to park your car and fucking off innawoods for a few days, anywhere from a small forest by your town to a national park. Anybody ever been shot/caught/distraught because of it? It just seems way better than camping at a campsite.
