>>291326>dangerous wild boars and mountain lions>hostile wild animalsWild animals normally aren't hostile. They can be aggressive as hell if they feel threatened. Use your brain. Have some common sense and give them some leeway. Walk downwind so the animals can smell you and vacate the area. You can see what can smell you and didn't leave as well. Have some situational awareness and look around. Pay attention to your surroundings. Don't be a fucktard and move fast, quiet, and upwind unless you want to get close to some animal. The closer you are to that animal, the more dangerous to you that animal becomes. In the hill country, this would include deer (who will beat fuck out of a human), piggies (who will knock you down and bite you), snakes (rattlers will sometimes strike without rattling, don't count on hearing them), skunks (stinky, but must be really threatened to scare), and insects. Snakes and insects are most dangerous because they go unnoticed and damage you without warning.
True story about a skunk:
>be me>be in Tom Greene County>be hunting deer with longbow>be noon and tired of sitting still and waiting>be stalking, slow and quiet>wake up a skunk about three feet in front of me>first thing I see is the back of the animal on the other side of a downed log>see tail go up>ohshit.jpg>freeze, think "I'm a tree" thoughts>skunk bounds away jumping like PePe>didn't get a deer that trip, but I arrowed two turkeys
