No river thread? For shame.

What are some good options for learning to whitewater raft? I learned some basics in high school (arta's junior guide school) but its been so long I don't think I would remember. I really miss the river though, and want to get away from guided trips. I've been thinking of doing a guide school, but that seems too competitive to be fun since I don't want a job.
