I was surprised at the reception taking my kid and his buddy /out/ got. I think it may have been due to why the friend went along. Friend's remarried dad took friend's siblings to New Orleans and left him home with mom. Took him along so he wouldn't be stuck home alone with no friends left in the neighborhood.
Wanna know what's worse? I'm home with my 2 year old daughter who has an ear infection while my wife is leading my son's boy scout meeting.
