Hell, he and his wife took a year long honey moon in a remote woods of Northern Ontario, where they hunted and gathered their own food, live in shelter they created, built fire by primitive ways. He himself was a survival teacher for many years.
Bear didn't start his survival crap until he was in the military, even then it was nothing he put that much time into. So Stroud has more years of experience, more time in the field. On the show, you see him talk to other survival experts, because they're experts of that area, so any first hand knowledge can be extremely helpful. Go do some research on both of them, before you open your mouth.
Also, if it wasn't for survival man, Bear Grylls would not have his career, that is a fact that both Grylls as well as the network has confirmed.
