- For her, I take her usual amount.. 1 cup 2x/day
- For me, I take meals 3x/day. Given the amount of calories being burned backpacking, I'm not entirely worried about food and I pack a slightly larger than usual meal size of a dehydrated chili or other homemade meal (so its healthy and not saturated with insane levels of salt like ramen, etc). Then I'll grab some dehydrated fruit as a snack and maybe some beef jerky to chew on and let the flavor soak in while I pack.
Assuming I'm going the old and lazy way and not dehydrating my own food- Bag of dry mashed potatos (garlic), a can of chicken, and ramen noodles. mixed together. Tastes damn good. Add some tobacco and it's nice. Too much weight to do more than 1 day though.
