>>299934I buy books when I can. If I read the first book in a series that I like, I buy the rest, the next time I see them in a used book store. If I run into a box of books on the side of the road, I grab everything I might, someday, want to read.
I collect books on woodworking, smithing, wild eatables, gardening, ceramics, art, photography, history, philosophy, religion. If it's a decent book on it's subject, I tend to pick it up if I can find it reasonably priced, because if I don't want to read it, I know someone who will.
But yeah, for casual personal reading, last year I read 134 books. I don't own a TV. I read on public transit on my way to and from work, and in the evenings when I'm not working on projects.
