Hey sc/out/s. I really didn't want to go to the fashion board for this and it's pretty relevant.

I've got this nice Spyder soft shell jacket that I wear all the time. I've taken care not to abuse it, or get it dirty. However, when I first got it, I noticed that it said not to machine-wash it. I've had it for two winters now, and it's beginning to have a weird odor, like moth balls or something. How would I go about washing it? Ignore it and throw it in a gentle cycle with a little detergent or?
