How do I split these fir logs? They are very large and very hard. Basically, what people normally use as a chopping block is what I have for firewood. It takes me 10 minutes just to split a piece of the edge of one with my 8lb maul. Is there a way to make this easier? I had a smaller fir that was 10 times easier to split.
