If you want a trailer-pretend-tent-cabin, just go for it and get one with all the good shit. Why is having tents that fold outa' it supposed to be something I'd want over, you know... a camper? That seems like it's a shitty, half-assed, pretend-difference between being in an RV and camping. Is it just really cheap, in Australia?

Why pretend to compromise between being in the wilderness and being in a mobile house parked in the wilderness? There's no shame in the mobile house. I like "the wilderness I can drive to" and "taking a shower" pretty-much equally. Beats being at home and, dude, sometimes going out without the hassle is kinda rad.

Most RVs are pretty much plastic and styrofoam bolted to any kind of truck and wont hold out for long if you take that truck over rough roads regularly

its a mil spec trailer made for civilians, a civilian trailer wont be half as durable.
you can tow that thing through quite a bit of offroading if you check out their videos.
would be nice to get city girls out camping/offroading with you if you dont mind paying 50-75000$.

Whats more manoeuvrable a proper 4x4 or a proper 4x4 with a trailer. Having said that the manoeuvrability you lose with one of these >>315086 is pretty negligible.

But it's beside the point, a trailer is used so you can have more space. You could just as easily tow a trailer with a van as you can with a wagon.

I feel if ni wanted to drop 50k+ on one I want it to be able to pull double duty as an eviction insurance. These popups are all uninsulated and would be a horrible live-in around winter, or summer in some places.

Personally don't have a problem with campers, id fancy a road trip to hit up park and not pretending to be innawoods survivorman everyday would be peaceful.

Id get an airstream though, durable as hell, easily repaired. Who's going to go rock crawling with a camper anyway.

My Westy recently took a dump after 800,000 miles. Considering either restoring it as a vanagon or converting it into a trailer to tow behind my truck. Could beef up the axle with some nice suspension on it and it would be a pretty sweet trailer.

So far the old girl has been to every state by Hawaii and Kansas, every Canadian province. And every nation in South America.

Every once and a while. I have been seriously considering doing the conversion to 16in wheels, currently bone stock.

Just moved from Anchorage, AK to Oregon and towed the poor ol' van. Somehow I lost both rear cv joints and a back tire, and had my dash catch fire (sadly odometer was unrecoverable) right before the move and didn't have time to fix it. Bone stock, grandpa bought it new and gave her to me.

Unfortunately its just the 2wd. '86 Wolfsburg.
