I think one of the defining moments of the board was when somebody suggested we make a flag or sticker or something, and a bunch of anons came out of the woodwork with ideas and designs. Although it fell through, it was still pretty cool.

Who remembers that Texan that was living in a hole? I think he called it Fag End or something. Also, there were a couple of other stateside guys with names that met up a few times and did some cool stuff, where did you go?

/out/ is generally a place for newbie outdoorsmen and indoor types curious about the outdoors to be confused together. I say that because from what I've seen, when someone who obviously knows his shit posts in a thread, the thread will generally die immediately.

That being said, some newbies know more or less than others, so you end up with some pretty decent discussion and diverse ideas going on here. The board being anonymous, it isn't plagued with the usual host of problems typical of online communities where certain members' opinions carry more weight than others.

I can't name one useful thing I've learned from reading /out/, but being able to discuss the outdoors in an anonymous format has been quite enjoyable.

To be honest, I shitpost a lot on here these days. I've literally been here since day 1, and there has been a massive drop in quality, mostly because hippies can't stay in hippie threads (huurr save the animals, durr landrapers). I still post decent content when I can though, I know that there are people here who actually go /out/ and want to learn.

i dont mind the cross pollination from other boards like k or x diy. an small improvement would be the containment of multiple threads of the same topic into a single one. but its not to bad i guess.
people should ignore stuff they dont like for example some of those hippies need to calm down and accept other opinions.
