It's one piece of hawthorn, the rootball and trunk from a bush.
Dried it out, shaped the head slightly, scored it with a poker, wrapped a handle with twine, stained the head and handle with coffee, gave it a couple of coats of yacht varnish and added a leather wrist lanyard.
You can't pick it up without wanting to hit things with it. lol

Keep feeding it with oil. Just dab it on some kitchen roll and rub it on, let the wood soak it up.
