Fuck shaving. Especially when you're hiking/camping. The whole point (it seems to me anyway) of those activities is to get away from the usual trappings of society and enjoy being in nature. Why bother shaving?

Soap is so bad to shave with. I once used soap instead of shave gel, I had a beard of pimples and red bumps. Was tender and itchy as fuck. Now I always use shave gel.

I cannot leave my standards at the edge of the woods. I use walking poles to peg my moustache out prior to going to sleep in a mozzie net hairnet after applying a river mud face-pack.

Yep, I do this. Shaved them prior to going to the jungle with the army, never felt cleaner. Shave every other day for lovely slappable lower chap area.

When I'm in the woods or jungle for a prolonged amount of time I just use my straight razor and my signal mirror. Less than a week in why bother? Longer than that and it can be uncomfortable, fucks with your sleep. Gotta have your sleep.
