>>321744If Oak Creek Canyon was your go-to "innawoods" in Arizona, then you may be a lost cause. That is literally the most crowded, most heavily regulated canyon in the state. I'm assuming that you live in the area, so here's a few suggestions:
For hiking in the area: Sycamore Canyon Wilderness, San Fransisco Peaks, Kendrick Mtn, about a million other places
For fishing in the area: Wet Beaver Creek, West Clear Creek, the streams over by Payson on and off the Mogollon Rim
