I use FiveFingers KSO's and El-X for running my 5 or 10 km runs, including running in the forest.
>>322959>They offer no protection for your feet, no cushioning at all That is the whole fucking idea!
But they do offer some protection, namely the sole. Walking full into some sharp edged stones will still hurt, yes.
>>322300>but if you run on uneven, rocky, rooty trails i'd go for something more substantial.I often hear this opinion but I do not get it.
Is it so scarce that people actually look where they put their foot before doing so? It it normal that for many people, walking equals a series of barely controlled falls?
I use them on uneven trails with roots and the usual clutter found in a forest. I do not get hurt because I simply watch where I put my feet. That means being aware of your surroundings and knowing what lies in your path for the next several metres.
It is so easy, a caveman can do it - actually, they did.
