two pieces of lattice about A4 or A3 size
lots of cardboard the same size
put leaves between sheets of newspaper
put newspaper between cardboard
put cardboard between lattice
tie it as tight as you can with rope
change newspaper every couple of days

thats more or less how you prepare them for herbarium reference purposes. good way to keep them nice

I kind of want to do like, one picture frame with local oak leaves

another for local maples

yeah, pressing them as described would work well then. google "herbarium pressing" or something similar to learn more.

I live in a suburb of KC, and there is at least one sycamore in every 4 or 5 backyards. Massive ones, too. Out city park has a good 30+ sycamores.

i guess we don't really build that close to our rivers in GA. always fun to go hunting in a swampy area and see these massive sycamores with 6ft diameter trunks

These sycamores aren't really close to any water though. Sure, the Kansas river is about 2 miles away, but other than that it's a suburb, and an old one (100ish years) at that.

Our sycamores are tallish for the area ( 60 ft or so), so definitely none that large. That's straight up awesome, I didn't realize they got that big.

odd. i never see them away from riparian areas in Georgia, but when i do see them, they are absolutely fucking massive. the only trees around here that get bigger are old growth white oaks and live oaks
