Just lay the bevel against the stone and stroke like you're taking a thin slice of the stone. It's important to lay the bevel flat, you want to maintain that bevel. Repeat until you have clean, new metal all the way to the edge. Then do the other side. Then go a stroke at a time on each side for a while to minimize burr. Strop it or use a finer stone if you want more shine and less burr, but the one step will make an excellent cutting edge. It's not complicated.
