Still, the Zippo/Bic argument is kinda stupid even if they did leak. It essentially boils down to:
- Bics don't light when damp BUT THEN KEEP THEM IN A ZIPLOC BAG
- Bics don't light when cold BUT THEN JUST KEEP THEM CLOSE TO YOU
- Bics don't light when there's wind BUT THEN JUST USE YOUR HAND TO BLOCK THE WIND
- Bics don't light at high altitude BUT THEN JUST CARRY A BACKUP
- Bics require you to keep your finger on it so it stays lit BUT I'M FINE WITH IT
- Bics empty rather quickly if something accidentally presses the button BUT THEN JUST BE CAREFUL
- Bics can stop working for no reason BUT IT'S ALRIGHT I ALWAYS CARRY A DOZEN
- BUT AT LEAST THEY DON'T LEAK LIKE GUYS, RIGHT???
Zippos are splash proof, work when cold, when there's wind, at the top of a mountain, have a ridiculously low failure rate, and can stay lit while put down on the ground. Yeah, they kinda leak, and a rubber band is enough to make them airtight, preventing them from leaking and getting wet when immersed, but apparently that's too much of a hassle for Bic users who'd rather go through all problems Bics have instead.
As for refueling them, it takes 10 seconds and can be done anytime you want, so obviously it's a good idea to refill them before going /out/. Changing the flint is predictable and takes 10 seconds too. Changing the wick is done every 5 years at worst, and that's if you use bad fuel, otherwise it'll last more than 30 years, it's predictable long in advance, and takes a minute to replace. Zippo maintenance is easier, faster and less expensive than having to buy a new pack of Bics every six months.
Plus it's always funny how Bic elitists never even mention the existence of Bic cases, that prevent them from being went and prevents it from accidentally running out. It's like no one around here really uses Bics.
