Apparently it's so that you can put it on any shaft you want, or if you don't have a regular axe handle. Although maybe just having a regular hatchet would make more sense.

Doesn't seem like the attachment method could actually stand up to the beating that point of contact would get with repeated use. It'd probably just be better to learn how to carve your own handle out of a branch if your hatchet broke in the woods.

When i attach an axe head to a handle, I have to pound it in and then use 2 wedges to secure/lock it in place.
I wouldnt trust something i have to screw in WITH MY FINGERS(with no leverage) to hold up to the force i exert to cut or split wood.

This really seems like the kinda shit they make/design for idiots who NEVER actually use the tools but just horde them for some retarded 'zombie apocalypse' scenario.
