I feel that the best thing to do is to teach her all the skills I can, and she's actually signed up for a "becoming an outdoors woman" class this fall, they teach ladies how to hunt, fish, navigate, clean animals, and light survival skills. I'm very happy for her.
But, there is truth to the fact that in this case, and up to this point, she has been somewhat unprepared and slightly lacking in the skills department. And she has to learn to be more assertive under pressure- something we will have to work on.
