I'm hoping to get some help identifying pic related. Found it buried under the root system of a particularly large carrot.

I grew up in southern ohio practically in the woods.I spent most of my time walking around the woods and digging. ( I am aware what a weird kid I was) anyway I found spoons, a lot of them, not in the same day, just that was most common item I found old and rusty. I probably had 12-15 different ones by the time we moved from there. wtf? any thoughts on this?
