>>346940You're probably thinking of the rakovalkea. You get two logs and plane them off a little on one side each. You place one log with the flat side up on the ground, kept in place with four sticks (two on each end on either side of the log - these should be long enough to support both logs).
Light a small fire on the top of the log that's current flat-side up and wait until it gets going. Spread it out a bit so that it's nice and long and then add another two sticks flat on top of this log. Then put the other log flat-side down on top of the other log. Those two sticks I just mentioned will mean there's now a gap between the two logs. The four sticks in the ground keep the top log up on top of the other and then it should burn all night.
Apparently great for sleeping but fucking terrible for cooking on.
