Boonie Caps are great so long as you don't make the idiot mistake I did and buy a black one. Brain felt hardboiled by the end of the day.

This is the new sort of hat I'm trying out. Mine's water proof so it won't get all soggy on me should the rain come, only downside is it isn't floppy and storable like the boonies are.

I wear something similar to pic related, it's a bit hot in summer(40c+ temps) but it's waterproof and great in windy weather.

I wouldn't know the first thing about matching clothes, doesn't interest me in the slightest. When I'm /out/ I wear what I grew up with, jeans, flannel shirt, lackey sided boots and a jacket when it gets cold. My hat was made locally to where I live and was a 30th from my wife, aside from the hot in summer thing would recommend/10

Maybe for the hot days I might just get a canvas wide brim hat like

i use this currently, really like the wide brim for sun shade, and the net is handy. can tuck it under the brim when I dont need it, and can easily drop it down when i do.

and for $8 it was a steal, bought 2

I'm thinking it'll be a bit cooler on hot muggy days, as combined with synthetic moisture wicking boxer-briefs, it ought to have better air circulation.

But for me it'll be strictly a camp item - I won't go tromping thru the woods (or in public...) wearing it.
