You can kill things, that is a power you have as a human, but a lot of people don't feel 100% okay with it, and are able, due to humans possessing reflexive consciousness and empathy, choose not to eat meat, and that is also a power you have as a human.
A cheetah can't do that, a cheetah will kill, its inevitable, but you can choose not to if you want, without any negative consequences.
To me there are 4 reasons to optionally eat meat: habit, tradition, convenience and taste. I like the taste.
For some people those aren't good enough reasons to eat meat, and there are probably plenty of good reasons not to.
Their choice isn't 'better' than yours, but they probably feel better about it, is that so hard to bare?
