Hey /out/.
My job's slowed down for the summer so I might have a week off to do whatever.
There's a few parks up North(ontario) and I wanna try a longer and solo backpacking trip, maybe a week or so.
I've done weekend backpacking trips. And been out on 10 day Canoe trips before.
But never anything solo or backpacking for this long.
Would a 70L pack be enough?
Should I get walking poles?
My main concern is water and food. In that unlike canoeing experience, water isn't always right there. And is extra weigh to carry.
Food moreso for bears. I don't want to haul my pack into a tree, as it's not as sturdy/waterproof as a 60L barrel pack. And all my stuff would be in it.
I'm thinking about getting some sort of sealable container to put food in and hang.
>look up bearvaults, $70 for a 7 litre jar
