What kinds of clothing do you wear when /out/? I was looking to get outfitted with some new cargo pants, shirts like in this pic (not sure what they're called) and maybe a new set of shoes... Any good suggestions for outdoor clothing stores?

i also have that shirt you're talking about( inpic)
mine is from columbia sportswear company
made in sri lanka apparently.
idk what its called, father gave it to me. but man it does help vent the heat your body generates out the mesh flaps on the back and the material feels very light but is very resilient as well

oh yeah i also wear
that columbia shirt, issued army pants because im cheap, and (columbia again) hiking boots, which the soles started seperating from the shoe by the front toes within 12 hours of use.
filled with gorilla glue for cheapo fix.( was a bad idea)
now water can surely fill in betwen the gaps

Jeans, button down shirt, duck jacket, waterproof backpacking boots.

Not fancy or particularly efficient, but it's tough and provides good ventilation.

Synthetic t-shirt, swimming shorts and gym shoes. Comfy and practical as you don't need to wear any underpants, your mosquito bites will be scratched as you move through the underbrush, and you will always be ready for a dip in the lake.

I usual wear just a plain longsleeve T-shirt during the warmer months, along with cargo pants, wool socks (my feet don't sweat near as much in wool as they do cotton for some reason), I might stick a flannel shirt in my pack if the nights are cool. As for underwear, I try to avoid wearing them during the summer months. It's more breathable without them. I usually wrap a shemagh around my head (kind of makes it look like a turban or headwrap) it handy for keeping sweat away and I usually tuck the sides over my ears so I don't get annoyed at the bugs and stuff. Boots I choose are usually Lacrosse all-year around.

Now during late fall/winter, I like to wear a regular t-shirt and some longjohns, wool socks for a base layer, a flannel shirt and cargo pants mid-layer, and a thick coat and toboggan, as well as wool gloves. If it's really blasting snow, I'll take the toboggan off and wrap the shemagh mall-ninja style so my beard won't grow snot-sicles.

Add merino mid-layer and/or soft shell as necessary for cold or rain.

Polyester thermal leggings under shorts if it's really cold.

Merino socks all day errday

I'm a bit of a gear whore but I work at an Outdoors shop so get it all cheap.

I like things simple and rugged and I usually go innadesert. Cotton jeans, long-sleeved T-shirt, cotton/wool blend socks, Columbia mid hikers (I've had better luck than >>356676, and their footbed is a perfect fit for me). As far as undies go, I just wear poly/cotton boxer briefs. This mix did fine in RMNP earlier this summer, too.

I also bring along swim trunks in case it rains because wet jeans aren't great. Haven't had to use them yet, though.

I wear a Stetson outback hat (again with the cotton) if it's hot, a Dorfman Pacific wide-brimmed felt fedora if it's not, or a North Farce "horizon breeze brimmer" hat if it's innacanoe.
