There a cheap way to winter camp I dont know about?
Ive camped in the early spring(slightly below 0C) but never -10 to -30.
I own a substantial amount of wool clothing as i work in industrial freezers which are about as cold. however i dont want to dismiss the experience of people who have winter camped before.

i own a camp air mat, thermarest sleeping pad, USMC 4 part sleep system; wool coat, pants, sweater, socks, longjohns. im thinking i could get away with using a tarp setup.
not sure if this will be enough, I am however prepared to buy a 1000$ winter tent with stove as I am prepared to start cross country skiing and snowshoeing.
but spending 1000$ on something non critical would be silly especially considering the tent and stove weight approx 40 lbs.
