The $100 "bleeder syringe" for the clutch can be replaced with a free 10cc syringe from the drugstore (ask the pharmacist) and an inch of carb drain tubing.
The crankcase holder... completely unnecessary. Same for the clutch holder.
Don't need the $10k Snap-On gold-plated ultra-precision torque wrench either. I've run my cheap-ass harbor freight wrenches across the calibrator at work, and they're fine. Not "as good" as the Snap-On ones, but for a dirt bike and snowmobile, they're fucking fine.
I think the single most expensive "tool" I have in the garage is my ... well, multimeter. Air compressor's probably the most expensive non-electronic tool. Then battery-powered impact.
Even with my snowmobile, there's very few "special tools" that you actually need the "special tool" for. (Clutch puller and spider nut tool are the two I can even think of.)
