Oy! Fresh from /k/ here if it wasn't obvious.
If there comes a time when SHTF then I simply plan to hide out for a while innawoods.
I want my cat to survive. He is very important to me.
What do I need to know to keep kitty alive out there?

If SHTF, all of your pets are going to die. Cats may fare a little better than dogs, but not for long. It's doubtful that your cat will even hang around you after it realizes that you don't have an infinite supply of food for it anymore. You should just accept this, and maybe even considering euthanizing them in that scenario.
