So I spent my $200 emergency cash, started driving a notoriously unreliable SUV that I don't even like, and only decided to bring a lighter with me for my EDC? Doesn't seem... well... plausible.

But I guess I'd drive as far out of town against the prevailing wind to my family's ranch. I'd stop at a country grocery store and spend my $66 on gas, bleach, a tarp, a knife, a couple of bottle of multivitamins, and as many jumbo sacks of rice as I could afford.

My BOL is not foolproof but there's a cache of silver coins, a rifle, and a firepit and an old camp trailer. Water could be supplied by a well-fed pond across the neighbor's fence... it's far from the infection zones and is 3 miles and 2 huge gates away from the highway. My family will probably rendevous there if they get out in time. If not, I have familiar turf, tons of game, carbohydrates, and a nice quiet place to an hero when the boredom gets too unbearable.

That way I can win their trust and then I'd just start a community homegrowing project thereby stablishing a fairly steady niche in their economy, maybe even (as far as it is safe) get to travel to some city nearby that hasn't been infected and get solar panels and shit.

I think I'd have noticed if all the big-wigs simultaneously disappeared/skipped town/"went on vacation"/went to the building's sub-basement never to return/etc and would've take it as a sign to get out of dodge leaving me with much more time than a scant 90 minutes.

What is vehicle bag? What is trunk gun? What is vehicle cash-stash? And why the fuck would my vehicle be a Jeep? If I'm gonna drive drive something that's guzzles gas like OP does cock it had better have more utility than a Jeep.

I wouldn't, but I'm studying horticulture, so lets assume it's vaguely related.

The current local city is less than an hour from me, so let's assume it's the next one - a few hours away and BOB is back home because.. my weight allowance on the plane is taken up with.. taxidermied pokemon or something

This is in the South Island of NZ btw. So at any stage I can avoid most ppl who are likely to go north and south towards civilisation by avoiding main roads and aiming west for the mountains. (I'm allowed to bring my map right? dem pokemans is only so bulky).

My Utilitarian ethics may get the better of me, so I may look up the local news phone numbers to call while I drive around the runways of the local airport in Jeep. NZ is already stupidly isolated for a global pandemic, so I might even save millions of lives by preventing some flights to Beijing or something. Will swap Jeep for Landrover or fucking anything with better mileage at the earliest opportunity. A Jeep is a luxury vehicle in NZ and worth much bank. There are many 4WDs around that could carry me to safety.

If I'm not prevented from driving through the fence of my choice and bailing, or if I just panic; I'll ram-raid a gun shop for extra hiking supplies on the way to the mountains and eat fern roots and cabbage tree hearts with my wild pig and venison, pushing north until the karaka seeds mature in late summer and I can lay in a store of carbs for the future months. They're poisonous when raw, so fuck yea horticulture

Oh, yeah. And I'll start my first fire with the $66. Our dollar bills are plastic, so they should make good tinder on a wet day.
