ferro rods:
Harder (will not break so easily)
will last longer (harder material less will be lost with every scrape)
easy to make spark
mish metal ( i.e. more magnesium )rod:
Softer might break when used (still works)
more globs of burning metall instead of sparks
Harder to scrape and ignite
is used up longer
Mish metal rod are insane but hard to come by/ or you dont know what you will get (sellers dont know what they are selling. batch A was mish metal and batch B sold later might be ferro )
tl;dr there a different types but doesn't really matter so buy a "light my fire" its good enuff
