whatever you look at, check out comparison videos, there's always one comparing to a gopro.
check out low light performance too - gopro isn't exactly great but it's not terrible either so it's worth comparing.
gopro footage is really good for what it is.
many cheaper alternatives don't have so wide angle a lens. check that too. very important for an most action cam uses.
many of the gopro's fancy arse shooting modes are more useful to professionals than average dudes, but some of the lesser ones are still handy to mortals who want to get a little creative. 120fps for example makes for some nice easy slowmo.
